Infant car seat insert??

I bought this car seat and I was wondering do I need an infant insert? I’m really not sure!! 1st time mom sorry if this sounds dumb I hope this is the right group to post in!!

Don’t add an insert that didn’t come with the car seat. Your instruction manual will tell you this and what you can safely use is needed. 
Most infant seats come with special cushioned inserts to secure baby's head; if not, pad the sides and the area around your baby's head and neck with a tightly-rolled blanket. And never use inserts that don't come with the car seat; it not only voids the warranty, but it could make baby unsafe.

The one in the carseat is great until he doesnt need it anymore. However, if you add inserts to the carseat that didnt come with it you avoid the warranty as well as run the risk of your baby not being safe in an accident.

It’s always good to have one. I have the evenflo pivot travel system and I believe we kept our infant insert till my son was about 3 almost 4 months
