What do you prefer a male or women obgyn doctor?

I have a male but I prefer a women cause a women knows more about a women the men just read in the books what they studied they don’t know exactly how we feel.
Yesterday I when see my male doctor feels like he just giving me this medicine call medroxy just to move me out the way I told him what dose this medicine do he tells me it’s just protect you uterus from “cervical cancer” I told him apparently I don’t have it so give me medicine what will help me start my period regular when I do take the medicine it still miss a month of period with or on it. Then when I told him this my year get pregnant he goes into his office and slammed the door I said my self the devil is lie 🤦🏽‍♀️🙏🏽

It depends on the person NOT the gender. I had the worst experience with my last female OBGYN and will never have another female. It doesn’t matter to me if they have experienced what I feel...I care if they know how to help me. I have endo so unless that female doctor has it as well...and even if she does as it effect people different...even a woman wouldn’t know what it feels like to be me. I had females from 11-25 and at 25 had my first male doctor. I had been misdiagnosed since I was 11! At 25, after one conversation, he immediately suggested endo and officials diagnosed me through a lap a few month later. There are terrible women and terrible men who make terrible doctors. Your doctor sounds terrible. That doesn’t mean all of them are.

The hell? Yea no he would not be my doctor. With my first I went from this older Indian lady (we did not jell at all, she was bringing culture and religion into my appointments) to the male doctor. Towards the end of my pregnancy he kept on prescribing me this same medication over again as if he didn’t even remember he prescribed it two weeks before. I never took it. I never felt like he heard me just pushed me in n out of his office. I was induced two weeks early and he was increasing and decreasing pit too much for my body to handle so I and my baby went into distress and had to have an emergency c-section. After that my body went into shock and I don’t really kno wat happened during that time i just remember hearing my mother. He is actually not practicing anymore n I am so happy that he isn’t bc he seemed like one of the reasons y there is such a higher mortality rate in the US. If u ain’t feeling him than switch to someone who will make u comfortable and heard.

Mine is a male. He’s amazing & has been an OB for years. He delivered my brother (27 years ago) & is highly recommended. It’s important to look at reviews and research anyone you go to. I had a woman before that acted like she just knew everything & was dismissive of my concerns.

I’ve never had a doctor that I like as much as my male obgyn. He spends time listening to all my concerns, helps find solutions and just puts me at ease. I had a female obgyn who was nice, but just didn’t listen like he does, was pushy and acted like she knew it all. She was also much much rougher than my current doctor is. He is very gentle and apologizes profusely anytime he might cause any discomfort. I hope he is planning to stay in our area, because he is fantastic, even DH loves him.

I had a female doctor before and she was awful. I have a male doctor now, and he is AMAZING. I cannot compliment this man enough. My SO loves going to appointments with me and the doctor always makes him feel so welcome. He is so much more gentle with the pap and transvaginal ultrasound than any female doctor I've had.

I have a male dr. He makes me feel very comfortable and unlike most drs, I feel like he really listens to me. I also had a male midwife helping when I was delivering my baby. I couldn’t really care aslong as I am being treated well. A male dr is trained just as well as a female dr.
