My 3 year old can’t go to preschool anymore because he is biting
I’m looking for some help and advice.
My son has always had high anxiety since he was a baby. We couldn’t go to baby or toddler classes because he would scream to leave, super shy and anxious. It seemed to be getting better over the summer we were finally able to go to some play dates and he started enjoying playing with other children.
He showed some atypical behavior as a baby and toddler. High pitched screaming when people would approach when walking on the street tho he says hi appropriately to all adults and children he knows. Lots of anxious behavior.
It seemed to be going well adjusting to preschool and then all of a sudden he is biting children daily when he has big emotions or also randomly. He will be playing great and then next minute something triggers him and he bites badly... the preschool says he is happy most of the time but it’s hard because you have to monitor him constantly. We are thinking of pulling him because he is hurting kids daily.
I’ve been to a psychologist, neurologist, multiple pediatricians, and now occupation therapy and speech therapy.
They all don’t think he has autism but maybe sensory processing or anxiety disorder.
What else would you recommend we do? Who should we talk to?
He loves going to preschool but I don’t want him hurting other children.
