Can’t stand condoms. Anyone with experience with the sponge?

My SO and I decided to put a pin in TTC for a bit for multiple reasons. I don’t want to go back on the pill in the interim as I’ve really loved being off of it for the first time in over a decade.

But, we fucking hate condoms. It’s just been a month and we’re already losing our minds. Half the time he can’t even get off and we both just feel like sex isn’t as intimate with a condom.

I bought a pack of sponges. I know they’re not as effective, but we’re willing to take that risk. Hopefully they work for us because I don’t think either of us can go on with the condoms. Any ladies on here have experience with the sponge?
