How many words is your little one saying?

Comments are welcome too - is your pediatrician concerned about your child’s vocabulary? Are they advanced? Curious to know

I stopped counting after about 50, and that was a couple months ago. My daughter’s pediatrician thinks she may be advanced. She knows all her letters and numbers 0-9.

My son (3) has a mild language delay, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect with our youngest, but her language is off the charts. She says so many words, I stopped keeping track and now she’s consistently putting together 2-3+ word sentences. The pediatrician at her 18 month appointment said she’s talking like a 2 1/2 year old. That being said, having now been through the process of getting services for my son, if you have any concerns at all, I would definitely mention it to the pediatrician. I would start with getting a hearing test, and then contacting early intervention. I didn’t really have concerns until between my son’s 2 year and 3 year well visits, so by the time we got things started, he was already 3. He’s been able to get services from the school district and he’s making good progress. We also got him evaluated by a private SLP outside of the school district and she diagnosed him as a mild speech/language delay. He tested on the lowest end of the acceptable range. So, there is a wide range of “normal” language development, but I still wonder where we would be if I had gotten him help even earlier.

Maybe 2? Do uh-oh and woah count? she has expressive language disorder, and finally getting speech therapy. She hs a severe delay for her age. So we’re super far behind.

I think my son is a little behind but he is very physically advanced.   He has no intrest in slowing down for words.  Hes learned to recognize numbers body parts etc but he doesnt really show much intrest in talking.  Never shown a ton of intrest in even saying mama

And that's about it.  I'm working so hard but he just has no interest.   The dr said if we were still having issues when hes 2 we might look into it a bit more
