Best way to jab for IVF?

Hiya ladies 💛 My first round of IVF injections start tomorrow morning and I'm both ridiculously excited and ridiculously nervous. When doing the injections, did you find it better to pinch the skin or not? Use ice before, after or both? Squeeze the liquid in slowly or quickly? Let me know any tips please x **EDIT** Okay ladies, I DID IT 🥳🥳 it took me sooo long to work up the courage to do it and i was getting angry with myself that i couldn't do it. My advice for anyone would be put some music or a video on youtube, something to distract yourself. Don't actually watch it because you need to concentrate but it helped distract me enough to actually do it 😊 Pain wise, i couldn't feel the needle going in nor could i feel when i injected the Menopur. I had a slight pain afterwards but that is more than likely mind over matter because i kept thinking about it. I am absolutely petrified of needles and usually have to take someone with me to get an injection so I'm super proud that i injected myself 🤗

I’m a nurse and have given a ton of injections so this is my advice:  If it is a SQ injection you need to pinch the skin. Once you stab yourself with the needle it is okay to let go of the skin. The reason you pinch is to pull the subcutaneous layer of fat up to make sure it’s going in to the correct layer (although the needles are so short it really wouldn’t get very deep). Do it fast and don’t hesitate!  You can inject as fast as you can tolerate. I would advise against injecting the medication slowly as it may burn a bit more but these injections really aren’t that bad. I never used ice or anything to numb the area. Good luck!!!

I pinch the skin and hubby puts it in. You don’t need ice, it doesn’t hurt. Put the needle in quickly and inject the liquid at a medium speed. Good luck! It’s not as bad as you think it will be

Definitely pinch and do it quickly, no need to hesitate or think twice about it.  Most of the shots were absolutely nothing at all, you couldn’t even tell.  There was one (maybe me pour) that I was aware of in the sense of a slight sensation but even that is done in seconds and off you go.  You got this!!  Baby dust! ✨💫🌟

I found it easier to stretch out the area of skin instead of pinching it and i never used ice or anything i just did them. I always injected slowly though cos sometimes if youre too fast it can sting.

Definitely pinch the skin. I wore yoga pants and put an ice pack against my belly (yoga pants kept it there) and let it there while I prepped the shots. By the time I was done, belly felt cold or sometimes numb and good to go. (Those shots don’t hurt though so not necessary to numb). Sometimes I’d ice after, just depended. I remember one shot stung going in so I liked to ice after that one. The others were totally fine though.
