Sleep training and breastfeeding

How do y’all separate the sleep association and Bf?!

My little one will self sooth with her fingers but still doesn’t sleep though the night and she’s 5m. Sometimes she’ll wake up 3 times and i hear her just talking away... i give it 20 min then i latch her so can go back to sleep. Nap time she’s terrible and won’t sleep on her own.. i just am defeated and tired. How can i sleep train without the cry it out method?
