Lo Loestrin concerns

I got put on Lo Loestrin birth control in December after my copper iud caused nonstop periods and learning it was displaced. My OBGYN told me this birth control would cause no periods however for the past few days ive been light bleeding old blood (brown) and woke up this morning pouring dark red blood and some clots. Has anyone else had this problem? Is this normal or should I call my dr in the morning?
