Are elderberry gummies/syrup okay to take during pregnancy?

Hope to hear comments from people who have checked with a doctor as well if possible. Planning on asking my doctor in a week at our apt but my daughter has a terrible cold now and I’d love to start taking it now to help prevent if possible. I do not want to be sick again this pregnancy as I catch everything and get it bad! If I can’t take I’ll suck it up but thought I’d get a head start if possible!

I’ve taken elderberry syrup every day of this pregnancy and it’s the only thing keeping me healthy. I normally get multiple colds a season and haven’t had any this round. But we also make our own syrup. It’s a berry. It’s fine depending on the type you get.

I was told no and so was my sister. If you google it also says that there is not enough research on it for it to be recommended as safe during pregnancy. I personally wouldn’t risk it, but you could always call your after hours nurse line to see what your doctor recommends.
