Meet the baby?!

Question

So I’m 24 weeks, due in May. We’re already planning the shower/baby q but I’m thinking about doing a postpartum/meet the baby once she’s here. Like maybe two weeks after we’d have immediate friends & family come over kinda like a floating shower from 12-4, meet her, have a potluck so I could freeze food... just a casual get together... has anyone heard or had something similar?!?

With my daughter we did a “sip & see” she was 3 months old by than. We rented a banquet hall and did a whole dinner and drinks plus dancing it was really nice to have everyone come hang out and meet her at one time in one location instead of people just dropping by and stuff.

It might just be me, but since this will be my first baby, I don’t think I’ll want anything to do with anyone 2-3 weeks after I have a baby. I want time to get to know my own baby instead of passing her around to everyone. Plus, after 2-3 weeks I can only imagine how tired I’m going to be and trying to figure out routines, etc. I wouldn’t want to host a get together...that’s just me though.

I was thinking a bout a sip and see so people can meet her on our time. I think a pot luck is definitely a great idea
