“Congratulations! You have a baby . . .doll?/I’m so Hungry I Could Eat Blankets

Jailyn

Hello! I have a humdinger of a dream to share. First, a bit of background. I rarely remember my dreams and when I do I take note because they usually mean something important. I literally have a dream journal that I keep by my bedside and add to on the rare occasion I recall my dreams. This one has me scratching my head. It is a dream related to pregnancy and ALL of my dreams have been pregnancy-related for the past several months. I have one daughter who is almost 2 and I am not pregnant as far as I know. Anyways, here goes.

I dreamt I was going into labor, but when it came time to deliver my mom was there. We were in a room full of doctors and nurses and they all kept saying there was no way I was pregnant because I didn’t look it. My mom ignored them and proceeds to perform a c-section. When she cuts into my belly amidst the naysayers in the room, there is no blood or organs inside me; my insides are made of LEGO bricks. Tucked up under my LEGO-ribcage is a baby boy. The medical professionals are shocked, but my mama and I are happy. When I dream I am rarely myself, but real Jai watches dream-Jai and sees what is happening. We are rejoicing over a baby boy, yes, but he is literally a doll. I have LEGO insides and my baby is a plastic doll (life-size). None of us seem bothered that he isn’t a real child, but as I watch my dream self I am aware that this is only a toy. The scene shifted and we are looking for the doll (whom we all treat as though real) and eventually find in the next room unharmed.

Another shift. I “wake” in my dream and ponder what THAT was all about when I fall into a dream inside a dream where I am back in what I think is a hospital room, but this time with a male OBGYN (a dream stranger that I don’t know in real life) who performs a cesarean, but instead of pulling out a baby, he begins pulling folded blanket after blanket from my belly (actual blankets we own in real life and again there is no indication that I have blood or organs) and asks me if I had been eating them recreationally or because of Pica (when a person pregnant or otherwise eats nonfood items due to nutritional deficiencies). I said I never ate any blankets! I was so confused in the dream. Then I woke for real.

What do y’all think? I am Christian so I will consider biblical symbolism as well as typical, mainstream dream stuff.
