How do you do taxes?

Might think this is a dumb question but I don’t know how to go about it, turbo tax? Irs? I’m 18 and want to file my own taxes, how do I go about doing so?

Download turbo tax.  You should be fine with the cheapest version. Or you might be able to get it done for free. Check out your local community college to see if they have a program for students to do them for you. 
I wouldn't do it that way if you are self-employed, have lots of investments, bought or sold a house, or paid crazy high medical bills last year. But from your age I'm assuming you don't have enough deductions to do anymore than the short form. So it's pretty straightforward. If you live in a different state than where you work you'll have to file in both states also.

Turbo Tax screwed mine up beyond belief my first year filing, then made it impossible to file them the next year because of the screwup.. then told me I needed the documents from last year to actually fix them (which I lost moving - yes I know that parts my fault) but Turbo Tax literally made it impossible to get them.. so I gave up on them. My 3rd year filing I worked at H&R Block and they fixed the 2 previous years for free (only because I worked there) 
Turbo Tax claims to be free but there’s so many hidden fee’s. I’d find somewhere reputable that you can file in person & backs up their work. 
My fiancé takes his to someone who does them professionally local in our town. We loved H&R Block but depending on what tax bracket you’re in they can be pricey - which his are there.

Depending on how much money you make, you may be eligible for free e-filing. The IRS website is actually a great tool for seeing where you qualify to file for free.
If you are wanting to do them yourself, I would HIGHLY recommend TurboTax or something like it that will walk you through. I wouldn’t try and do it from a booklet on your own. I know that TurboTax has a great hotline you can call and ask questions when you use their software. I wouldn’t wait until April to file or call, as they will be super busy. The busy times for filing are right away (people who are due refunds usually want their money ASAP) and the last minute (people who procrastinate and/or owe money).
