Food Stamps

I have a question. My husband and I applied for food stamps we are currently waiting to see if we are approved or not but I just thought of Something that I forgot to ask the case worker. My husband was fired a few weeks ago so currently we have Zero income. They asked for his last recent pay stubs for before he got fired. And I add the numbers up and he made more then the amount to Qualify for our household size. Will they go by what he made and deny us. Even tho we don’t have income now? We also gave them proof of him being fired. So my question is will they deny because he made to much before he got fired or will they go by the fact that he is unemployed now and we don’t have any income?

Also we are in Michigan.
