Faint lines followed by period

Hi, so I had some vvfls then a negative then today I started bleeding. My partner and I chose to take a mental health day which was needed. On advice from friends I phoned my GP who said go to A&E. The triage nurse took my pulse and blood pressure and said it was probably my regular period and to go home. If I bleed heavily or for longer than my normal period go back in. He also told me to take another test in a week. I dont know if was even pregnant and they weren't false positives.

I dont know how to feel about it all. Or what to do other than carry on and go back to work tomorrow.

I am distraught but feel stupid for feeling like that as I never had a clear positive.
