My husband and I are having a debate on if black and white are considered colors. He says they are and I disagree. Lol opinions?

Neither have a specific wavelength that correspond to them, so they cannot be colours. 
White contains all the wavelengths of visible light so is basically a sum of all possible colours, and black is the absence of visible light - and therefore colour.
