Induction won’t work ?

The last 3 appointments I’ve gone to we’ve talked about me being a good candidate for elective induction due to painful latent labor. I went in to my appointment this morning where we were supposed to schedule the induction if I had not progressed. You can see a different doctor at this facility from appointment to appointment so I had mentioned that we were supposed to discuss it when I went in and she checked me.

She told me that induction wouldn’t work because I’m only 1cm dilated and 70% thinned and I have to progress more before it’s even an option. Has anyone heard of this or had a similar experience.

I’ve talked to friends since the appointment and they’re confused because they have been induced for similar reasons and still being closed
