How do you cope with stopping breastfeeding?

Question

My daughter is 10 months old. Ive supplemented with formula when I need to, but now Im pregnant again and Im trying to wean her completely off. I havent nursed her at all today and its breaking my heart.

I picked a day and feeding that I wanted to be done and stuck with it. That feeding I took a few pictures, didn’t play on my phone or watch tv, wasn’t distracted, and just enjoyed the whole feeding. 
I wanted to be done on my time and not because baby didn’t want it anymore, because supply was done etc. with it being that way I was mentally prepared and not in the “if I would have known it was the last time....” 
i pumped a little after that. But when I was done breastfeeding I was done and ok with it

Its so hard. Currently going through the same thing because I am pregnant also. I am not producing nearly enough. 
Probably doesn't help with the pregnancy hormones to be extra emotional about it  But I have cried a lot too and yesterday was the first time we didn't nurse at all. So I get it.. your not alone!

It was easy for me. I guess to me either way boob or formula i was feeding him and was happy with that. We stopped Breastfeeding at 7m not because of supply but because he’s to active

I miss the comforting bond the most. I weaned off completely about a week ago. I was really sick and dehydrated and needed stronger antibiotics etc and I was pretty sure I was drying up anyways. It was time. At times I knew he really didn’t want the bottle but he got over it and it’s been nice to have hubby help with feedings! But 4 am wake ups are harder bc they take longer to warm up/etc

I feel you. I just started slowly weaning this week. Just cutting out one feed at a time with the goal to be fully weaned when he turns a year next month. It's harder than I thought it would be, but honestly, I'm just ready to not BF anymore, and he's such a good eater and took to solids so well, it just felt like time.

Aw I’m dreading stopping cuz I love it so much. Some women still nurse throughout their pregnancy and go on to tandem nurse but I totally get it if that’s not for you. You’re doing great, mama!
