So it’s a long story but help me out

So I am a shy person, I don’t make the first move but I can respond well if it is with the right person.

There is this guy, we will call J.

Now J is also shy unless drunk, and for the past 2 years has been flirting with me (very obviously) but only when drunk. At parties he tells others to go away so he can talk to me and his friends always tease him about me and ask me how I feel

He clearly has a crush on me, I think

But it’s been two years, and he asked me out once but it never happened cause we weren’t free at the same time.

He still drunk texts me but we haven’t been at a party together in a while

So that is the complicated part as I don’t know whether to give up on him or keep waiting or do I make the move?

The more complicated part is one of his friends, not super close, has just starting hitting on me. We will call him A.

He is super good looking and also a good person.

I want to get over J but to do that I need someone else to come into my life, and his friend just seems wrong to do, just in case he does like me.

But what if J is just friendly and I’ll miss out on A for nothing
