super early period?

so i take combination birth control (sprintec) and i still have a week of active pills before i start the placebos but my period already started. Even before i took birth control my periods were very regular and this has never happened in the year and a half ive been on bc. does having my period early impact the effectiveness? should i take the placebos now or continue on the normal schedule? is this just an anomaly?
