Can a massage induce labor?

Im 38+2  I scheduled a much needed prenatal massage for tomorrow.  Ive heard it can induce labor is that true?

Idk but I am supposed to get an hour long one next Thursday (I’ll be 38 and 6) and it would be beautiful it sent me into labor.

Nothing will truely induce you unless baby is ready to come. I’m getting induction acupuncture tomorrow and all the studies suggest that it just increases oxytocin levels and helps baby in a better position for labor but won’t actually induce labour which is why most “natural” induction methods don’t work. Probably why medical induction often leads to failure to progress and c sections too.

Not enough evidence to suggest it does. I have been getting massages every week this while pregnancy and my girl gets deep into my muscles everywhere and this baby ain't budging. The only way I would think you could get induced by it is if you have a heavy toxic load in your body, massage can trigger toxins to be released from muscle tissue (that's why they tell you to drink lots of water to flush toxins after massage)

I think it has more to do with the oils they use (primrose oils) and the oxytocin you release when you’re happy and relaxed which happens when you have a massage

I had one at 33 weeks and they did my feet but nothing happened.... lots of body ache and SPD flare for a day after then all good!

I thought only footmassage. Because it contains a lot of pressure points. My partner gave me a lot of massage but baby still too comfortable inside haha. 38+4
