Red sore skin from using black Dead Sea soap?

I recently bought black Dead Sea mud mask soap for my breakouts. First day I fell in love with it but I guess I got a little trigger happy the next morning and applied way too much because all day my skin has stung if I put any other products on, it’s fiery red and hot to the touch. Did anyone else have this experience? And what is your advice at soothing the inflammation?
