swollen after sex

i had sex w my new bf tonight, and i’ve had sex before but this time it hurt and when i went to the bathroom after, my vagina (labia) was sooooooooooo swollen and red. it’s on both sides but is mainly on the right side and when i walk i can feel it. its probably just from rough sex but is there any way it could be vaginitis or something else?
