Does anyone else hate Valentine’s Day while being in a relationship

So I’ve been with my husband for 12 years , 2 being married, and in the beginning of course being young and in a relationship I thought it was important and cool... didn’t take long to realize it’s a dumb holiday. 
Over time I’ve come to feel that one day “celebrating” love isn’t necessary when you celebrate it everyday which my husband and I do. I hate receiving flowers that’ll just die, or chocolates that will get eaten within minutes. I refuse to purchase anything that has to do with the holiday during this time lol I know I know... 
anyone else feel this way??

I never really cared about valentines day. We would treat like any other day accept with discounted chocolate if purchased the night of :p

My husband usually gets me something small but not always.  Also been married 11 years in March an known each other since we are kids.  I started a new tradition though.  We have two daughters together just turned 9 an 6.  He always gets them a stuffed animal an I dress them up an he takes them out on a daddy daughter date.  I always went on dates randomly with my dad an loved it so I figured why not.  They feel really special to be going out with their dad.

My husband's birthday is the 16th so I don't really give a shit about valentine's day. He does tho, I find it a pain in the ass to have to plan out his birthday and think of something cute, sweet, loving for valentine's day. Like can I just concentrate on making your  birthday badass. This year he suggested we make gifts for each other for valentine's,  and I want to be excited about it but I'm just like ugh, I've got enough on my plate right now. I feel pretty guilty for feeling this way.

Out anniversary is Valentine’s Day so it had a little more meaning for us. 
But I feel that way about birthdays and Christmas when it comes to buying stuff for each other that we don’t need that just ends up in wasted money. So we don’t exchange gifts between each other anymore for any of those holidays.

It’s whatever to us! Even for Christmas we try not to go out and just buy something and to really exchange experiences rather than gifts. But we have a date night every weekend so we’re not just going  to ignore Valentine’s Day. Chocolates and flowers, even going to a restaurant we won’t do, but we’ll still acknowledge the day because we’ll probably have a romantic night in regardless

My husband has always bought me small practical things for Valentine’s Day. Our first valentines while we were dating, he bought me ear muffs bc it was soo cold waiting on the metro platforms in DC. I knew he was my kind of guy. I like the small practical thing bc I think it’s super sweet and actually really romantic that he’s thinking about something I need or could use.
