Does your baby answer when you ask them a question?

Do they answer “yes” or “no” by saying it or a head shake?

My daughter won’t say yes or no but she will shake her head no.  And no sometimes means yes because she has not figured yes out yet lol.

Just started a couple weeks ago! Nods for yes, shakes head for no, sometimes she has fun doing both with giggles. No/head shaking definitely is the stronger association for her, like if I go to hand her off and ask her, can Auntie M hold you? She'll shake her head no and grab my shirt closer. That was a shock the first time it happened! Like, you can communicate back now!

Yes! All the time. She nods yes and shakes no and says “Es” or “k”

The only time my daughter will actually say “ya” is when I ask if she wants to watch the wiggles. She’ll sometimes shake her head when I try to feed her.

My son isn't saying yes or no yet. He shakes his head to everything. Though if I ask questions he will answer by going to or grabing what I ask. Like if I ask if I can change his diaper he will go to the changing table or if I ask if he's ready to eat he goes to his highchair or tell him to pick out a book to read he will. It works but I do wish he would say more than Mama and Dada.
