Tips to make it through!
I’m 27 this year. I’ve had suspected endo and pcos since I was about 15, confirmed by laparoscopy over a year ago, and I just wanna share some things that has helped me along the way from trial and error and backed up by some research...
1. No caffeine!!!! It sucks but caffeine really does make the pain worse
2. Keep full and hydrated. Your body burns more when in pain, keeping full helps combat that (like never get a tattoo on empty stomach-same concept)
3. Heating pads (plural- one in front and one on back)
4. Keep ibuprofen in stock- if you can, ask doctor for 800mg- it absorbs better as a single pill (check with dr before taking anything at all please)
4. Hot epsom salt baths (check with doctor)
5. Don’t be ashamed to wear huge pads or even some depends
6. Comfort is 100% necessary. Don’t wear or do anything that will make you the least bit uncomfortable if you can help it. Even if you look strange or like a hobo. Wear those granny panties and rock that messy bun!
7. Walking around actually helps! Organize your pantry, clean the bathroom, or sweep the floor- whatever you can to occupy thoughts. I know ya don’t wanna do anything but getting up and moving every now & then does help
8. Vitamins- check with your doctor- but I personally need the iron because of so much blood loss
9. Please get in with a gynecologist that you feel comfortable and you feel listens to you. It took me a few of them before I found one that actually wanted to see what was going on! Birth control pills did not help me and I’m ttc now so it’s important to have someone that will have your back.
Those of you who cannot have the best accommodations because of your job (my job is a bit more flexible than most) or you mommas- add to the thread if you have tips! I can’t speak for you so I don’t want to act like I know what it’s like for you! We all need support and tips to get thru this!!
Also, I’m ttc so any tips for that with the endo are appreciated!
