Opk testing.. when to start testing?

When In your cycle is best to start testing with opk’s? I’m on day 6 of period and it will be finishing soon will be tracking again but unsure when I should start?

How long is your cycle? I am 28 days start om day 11, usualy get a positive on 14 and ovulate on 15. I feel pain in my ovaries and once it's gone I know I ovulated, but I still check
