Circumvallate placenta...?

Does anyone have any experience with circumvallate placenta? Had my 20 week scan yesterday and got diagnosed with that. Not much info online... 🤷🏾‍♀️

I was diagnosed with it at my 20 week ultrasound. I don’t have much information... the doctors don’t say much. I am 29 weeks and everything is going good still. But, I do have ultrasounds every 3weeks. My baby is measuring a little small but she has good blood flow. Doctor said she doesn’t want to induce before 37 weeks. As long as the baby continues to grow we won’t induce. And she said I can deliver normally, as long as no other complications arise.

From what I researched, it’s an irregular shape of the placenta making it potentially hard for nutrients to reach the baby easily. I don’t have this, but I have a marginal cord insertion, which has the same risk and many others especially during the labor and birthing process. I guess my cord is attached to the side of the placenta rather than the middle of the placenta, which makes the tissue softer around the connecting part of the cord and risks a tear in the cord or the cord could even detach from the placenta before the placenta is properly released after birth. Kinda scary. Also I have a higher risk of hemorrhaging after birth.

I was diagnosed at 19 weeks. My doctor doesn’t seem concerned, and I am having growth scans every four weeks to make sure baby is growing well. If she dips below 10th percentile, I’ll be induced at 37 weeks. So far everything looks good though!
