Tenant taking advantage?
My husband allowed his friend to rent a room at our house. The friend is a single male, he has his own room and his own bathroom. We originally agreed that rent would be $600 monthly, and he could eat dinner with us since we cook dinner anyway. But now, I’m starting to feel like he’s taking advantage of us. He uses our detergent, doesn’t supply his own toilet paper, eats food from our pantry, drinks our beverages, and literally we feed him 3x a day, he tags along when we go out to lunch, or when we go out to each without him, he asks us to order him togo? He hasn’t spent a single dollar other than the $600. I just feel a little bit uneasy on whether I should talk to my husband to be more clear with him on how he needs to be more independent. We’re not a hotel— and we shouldn’t have to fully support an able-healthy individual. Doesn’t usually tenants eat, and supply their own items? It’s only been a month and it’s really irking me.
