Does anyone run a at home daycare ?

I was thinking about not going back to work and taking in two kids to watch but i have never done that before and was wondering for people that do this what it’s like and is there anything you could tell me about it?

Off the top of my head, you will need your CPR certification and current TB test. You will need to make sure that your home insurance covers others in the home. Make sure everything is completely baby-proofed. Secure furniture to the walls. Make sure Tv's are tethered or mounted. Decide how food will work and what safety precautions you will take. You will need a contract for parents so they know what the expectations are. How will you handle sickness, yours or the children's? How will discipline be handled? What is your child care philosophy? Will you be leaving the home with the children or staying inside? How will payment be handled? Have a background check and driving record check done. Make sure anyone who has access to your home or to the children also has a background check done. Do you have any child care experience or a background in child development? If not, you will want to start researching and self educating. I was a childcare provider for 20+ years in different settings. It is incredibly rewarding, but also very challenging.
