Tongue piercing?

I’ve been debating HARD on getting my tongue pierced just because every once in awhile I get a wild hair to either get a tattoo or piercing (mid life crisis moments 😂) 
So I have a few questions: 
1. is the pain bad? (Mind you I have my lip pierced). 
2. is the healing process hell? 
3. Is it worth it?

The pain of the piercing itself wasn’t bad for me. The swelling and healing process was TORTURE though 😂 It seemed to take me extra long to heal. But once it did it was totally fine. I often forgot I had it pierced and would play with it which was largely a reason I took it out. Be prepared for your dentist to have a strong opinion (understandably)

I had mine for three years! When I got it done mine got infected (I have really sensitive skin so I guess my body was trying to reject it), but I kept up cleaning and it healed finally after three weeks. It definitely takes some getting used to and I chipped two teeth all while learning how to talk and eat with it. It is super annoying though because it makes talking hard at first. 
I personally think it was worth it for me because I loved to play with it when I was bored or thinking. I have braces now though so I had to take it out but I did enjoy it for the three years it was in.

I loved it and it was probably my least painful piercing (16 at the time). I ate a hamburger about half an hour after the piercing and didn’t have issues. I slept in a recliner the first night because I was told laying down would cause it to swell, although it never did.
I have spider bites (done twice), cartilage, naval, and tragus. Tongue was least painful

I have had my tongue pierced for 10 years. I forget I even have it sometimes. It was like a pinch when I got it pierced. My tongue was swollen for like 2 days. My husband seems to love it.

I had mine for a few years. The pain sucked for like 2 days but healed super fast. Like probably the fastest of any piercings I’ve ever had. It was also awkward because your tongue swells a bit so they give you a longer bar than normal. Within a few days it was all back to normal and I changed it to a normal size. I still miss it sometimes. Def more temporary than a tattoo!
