Baby name same as friends ? See description

Question

Myself and my Husband are having a baby Boy, we both like the Name Noah and so far it’s the only one we can agree on! but my husband is put off by the idea that our friends have a boy (around 4 years old) with the same name. They are our friends but not ‘best friends’ and also they live in a different country so not like we would see them often. 
What are people’s opinions on this?

I think you use the name you want for you child. Just as your friends did. They loved the name, they believed it fit their son and they used it! Why not?! Who says only one person can use a name and once they do its off the table? I think that’s silly. I don’t like very common names so I don’t often come across people with my children’s names but even if I did 🤷🏻‍♀️. The name might be similar or exact but your story behind it or reason you love it won’t be and that makes it unique and special in a way theirs isn’t! :)

2 of my friends had Charlotte’s in the same year (January and September). First friend was a little annoyed by it but never told the other friend. Charlotte is a popular name right now so it has to be expected. Noah is pretty common too so I don’t think your friends should expect there would never be another Noah (even though they might be a bit annoyed but they might not ever care either).

I got the idea of my daughters name from a family friend. Granted, we BARELY see them, maybe once a year. But idc, I love my daughters name and see it as hers💗

The only thing I have against the name Noah is it’s SO over used. 
BUT he is your child. And you get to name him whatever you want!

My 2nd born is my Noah Daniel he just turned 3 a few months ago. Also a good friend of ours has 2 nephews that share both my boys names. We definitely didn’t do that on purpose! We just loved the names. If it’s the only one y’all agree on go for it. It’s already challenging enough to pick a name. Don’t stress about it ❤️

I'd choose a different name. But that's just because I wouldn't want to feel like we "copied" them or have them accusing us of stealing their name etc.
But if you can't find a different name, then you use the one you love 🤷🏻‍♀️
