Delivery opinions?

Lindsey

I am currently 28w3d and I’m am not thinking one way or another at this point. I want real opinions to help me make a decision even though it may not end up being up to me.

First pregnancy: vaginal, induced, labored for over 24hrs, and pushed for 3 hours, needed catheter for 24hrs after due to uterus trauma and it not contracting back down to normal I couldn’t pee for hoursssss. Had two stitches. Was in the hospital for a total of 4 days.

Second pregnancy: had severe Polyhydramnios and delivered at 36w. Labored for 18hrs, pushed for 1 hr, had huge blood clots, almost passed out and needed a blood transfusion, ended up with an infection and couldn’t walk or stand straight, had to be readmitted to the hospital for antibiotics. Was in the hospital for total of 4.5 days. 2.5 for labor and delivery and 2 for the infection. My son passed away in the NICU from a genetic disorder we did not know about until after he passed.

I’m having twins. The doctor has said I can choose how I want to deliver. Obviously if baby A isn’t head down it’s not up to me. They also said they could deliver baby B vaginally even if hes not head down.

I like the idea of having a set day and time of the c section since I have a toddler at home. My recovery for my other pregnancies weren’t the easiest anyway. My stomach is a mess from the Polyhydramnios so I’m okay with a scar. However, I want to hold and nurse my babies as soon as I can. I want to be able to hold them and help as much as I can at home.

I want whatever is best for the babies and least amount of stress on them. I will talk more to my doctor about this but wanted to hear others opinions before I ask her more questions.

Thanks!
