When to start baby on baby food or cereal?

When have you started you LO on foods?

Our pediatrician gave the ok at her 4 month appointment but I’m going to wait until 6 months and when she can sit unassisted. We will skip purées and just do BLW

Our doctor follows the 6 month recommendation so we are waiting til then. I think whatever your doctor says is fine.

I tried at 4 months but he wasn't really ready so I stoped and will try again in a few weeks. 
I tried for 2 weeks giving him very small bits and tried a few things. He would open his mouth for the spoon but still had the tounge reflex so wasn't really swallowing yet.

Just doing puréed food at dinner time, started at 4 months. We’ll do BLW at 6 months. She loves her food!

We started my son on oatmeal at 4.5 months. He swallowed it fine and loves it. We tried carrots yesterday and he wasn’t a fan. Today we will do oatmeal and maybe a spoon or two of carrots. 
We started slowly and will continue to add different vegetables about one a week. We are in no rush but he sits and shows interest and our dr said it was ok because his growth has been great.

My baby is 20 weeks old & the doc gave us the go ahead last week. We just started the last week & so far so good! He’s reeeeally getting the hang of eating, it’s so cute. We’re just doing a small amount, one meal a day.

We were given the ok at 4 months, but I really wanted to wait until 6 months to do BLW. However, she's eating a ridiculous amount of BM, so I figured I'd try some solids to see if they help satisfy her. She's 19 weeks right now and I've tried the tiniest little tastes of carrots and oatmeal - they made her shake and cry like she was being murdered. I think we'll keep waiting. 😬

This weekend. She's 5 months and doctor recommended it to try it before her 6 month appt. Going ok so far
