Anyone using multivitamin or prenatal vitamin supplements after delivery? I'm 5 months postpartum and not using, does it effect my health later?

I'm breastfeeding so I still take a daily vitamin. I've been taking "postnatal" vitamins but a daily multi is fine

I have a hard time with prenatals. While TTC I tried to take them and within a few days would have such headaches and nausea I’d think I was pregnant. Realizing it could the the vitamin I would stop and things would go back to normal. Feeling guilt, I would try again every few months and still have the same issue until I stopped them. My doctor had me try Flintstones and I had the same issue. He gave me the clear to quit taking them. The day I found out I was pregnant I started taking them again. No nausea or headaches the whole pregnancy. They were part of the routine. About a week after being home I started to be so nauseated they gave me Zofran. I had headaches. I was worried it was the epidural. Then it hit me... I quit taking the prenatals and life was good again. I can’t explain it but I do have a severe metal allergy and once in college I ate a Centrum chewable and woke up with my entire mouth, tongue, and throat swollen to the point my roommate noticed it across the room. My mom also couldn’t give me any formula with iron in it when I was a baby. I have a lot of trouble with multi vitamins so I’ll try when I’m pregnant again but for now while trying I don’t bother. I just take folic acid.

It's definitely recommended to continue as long as you are breastfeeding. Otherwise you need to really make sure that you are getting enough of everything necessary from your diet.
