So, I do know safe sex basics and I’ve deliberately left penetration off the table, but my boyfriend recently had a scare, so at 22 I’m going to get advice and maybe testing. There’s a family history of issues with hormonal birth control and I have some mental health stuff that’s effected by it, so my options as I see it (plus condoms each case) are either a copper iud, a high tech planner, or a diaphragm, or some combination. I want to double check the risks and rewards here.

This is my college health office. What should I ask about? What documents do I need? Etc. This is my first time asking about my sexual health (I haven’t been active until recently) and I find insurance stuff scary.
