This is our second child and we’re struggling a bit with the name. We love the name Benjamin, but our oldest son (3 yo) has a good pre-k buddy with the same name. We’re keeping the name secret so we don’t want to run the name by our son, since of course a 3 yo can’t keep a secret! Would it be weird to give our baby the same name as our oldest son’s friend? I would avoid choosing the name of any of our friends’ kids, since these are friendships I expect will stick around and our kids will grow up together, however, my son and his friend will not be in school together anymore in a couple of years when they go to kindergarten, so who knows if they’ll continue to be in our lives? I know there’s no right or wrong answer, but I’m curious about people’s thoughts on this!
