Birth story
So I can't believe im now writing this.
After years of being told it would be hard if impossible to have a child of my own due to endometriosis.
I finally gave birth my daughter on the 25th January 2020. At 8.48pm Weighing 7lb 40z 19 inch long.
My waters broke at 8pm on the 23rd at the time i was 38 wks +1
I was told I'd have to be induced on the 24th as I was contracting but not dilating due to having a 9x8cm fibroid which was stopping my cervix from contracting and it being a risk of infection after 24hrs.
This didn't take place till 3am on the 25th due to emergencies but I was kept an eye on throughout.
I was given a pessary then it was just a waiting game.
After about 6hrs inwas checked and was only 2.5cm dilated which was upsetting so I was told I'd be going through to delivery ward to put given the hormone drip. (Which was part of my birth plan anyways due to the fibroid)
Also I was given fluids and on stand by incase i I needed blood as i was more at high risk of hemorrhage.
Honestly my labour from 2.5cm to 10cm went alot quicker than I expected was total of 38 minutes I pushed for 9mins i also lost a total of 400ml of blood. And iwas kept on a drip for few hours after my baby was born.
I was so prepared for a long labour due to it been my first and with the fibroid but apparently my body took really well to the drip.
The whole idea of my birth wasnt the best under the circumstances but I wouldn't change it for anything. My baby girl is here and healthy so that's all that matters to me.
But I just want to say to other women who have endometriosis or other conditions there is always a possibility to have your own child. Always have faith
