Can someone help?
I have a cat who will be a year old this June & he’s such a loving cat, but like obsessively loving. We have another cat (his father) who can be grumpy and mean at times. However, he will occasionally want to be loved and the moment we give him any attention our other cat jumps up for our attention. He’ll push his dad out of the way so we can pet him. If my husband or I are holding the other cat he walks up to us to try and get us to hold him or pet him too. He even falls in front of you for attention. I’m not understanding why he does this when we give him lots of attention & always have.
It’s to the point where it’s getting out of control. He’s fought with our other cat for our attention. He’s tripped me & my husband a few times while walking because he’s fallen right in front of us while walking to pet him. We’re now trying to show him that not all the attention is for him, but he doesn’t like it at all. We’re just so afraid because we’re going to have a baby in April & don’t want him to harm the baby because we’re not paying any attention to him. Has anyone dealt with this before if so, how did you teach the cat to stop?
