Baby won’t take a bottle 😫

Ashley • Due 11/29/19, Born 12/5/19 💙

So I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding my little man, he is almost 2 months old. Ive been pumping to build a supply for when I go back to work here in a few weeks. I’ve been trying to introduce a bottle in. My husband and my mom have been trying to help feed baby but he just screams and seems he can’t get the hang of it. I’ve tried 4 different brands of bottles and nothing seems to work (Mam, advent, medela, and Dr. Brown). Any advice or tips?! I’m so nervous for when I go back to work he is going to just have horrible meltdowns without being able to nurse 😭

Try leaving the house when a bottle is offered. Sometimes they know you’re still around and would much rather have you. You might just have to keep trying different bottles too. Some babies are really picky.

I second the leaving baby before it’s time to eat! My son wouldn’t take a bottle if he still knew I was around.

I highly recommend Lansinoh bottles! My baby hates all bottles but that one. She’s able to get a wide latch just like on a breast.

These worked for us also

My LO is doing the same thing! He absolutely refuses the bottle all of a sudden and only wants the breast. He was raking it previously so I’m not sure what changed all of a sudden. Won’t take it from his dad or my mom. I’ve built up a supply and now I feel like it’ll go to waste. I’m hoping it’s just a phase but I’m going to try new bottles in the meantime I guess.

I highly recommend comotomo bottles. My little guy wouldn’t latch and he’s been using them since we got out of the hospital. I had a variety of bottles on hand just in case he didn’t like them, but he took to it really quickly. They are also so easy to clean. I’m super happy with them and so is my little guy.

Keep trying different bottles. I went through like 5 until I found one baby liked. They may know this but just in case not, make sure they are feeding baby at the first sign of hunger. If they wait for baby to be crying itll only make it harder. Does baby take a pacifier? If so try that brand of bottle. My oldest only used Tommee Tippee. This baby will only use Mam. Lol Depending on how old baby is, make sure the nipple isn’t too slow. It could cause major frustration. Those are my tips! We literally just went through this same thing and finally got baby to use a bottle this week 🥳🥳
