Washing baby clothes?

Question

So everyone keeps telling me I must wash all new baby clothes and blankets in dye free and scent free detergent. No problem. I picked up some and washed the clothes tonight. But as I took them out of the washer and put them into the dryer I noticed almost every single one was made of “100% cotton” or at least 80%.
My husband said “just hang them.” I thought to myself....there’s no way I can hang 50 onesies and shirts and pants....and with how often I’ll be changing him, who has time for this stuff to dry?! 
I put the clothes in the dryer but changed the temperature to low instead of medium. Anyone else have suggestions? Or is everyone putting them in the dryer too?

I put them in the dryer. Just expect all clothes to shrink some but they shouldn’t shrink too badly.

I wash my sons in normal detergent. The first loads I did before he was born I used sample baby detergent. But let’s be honest, he’s on top of me ALL day with my clothes soaked in smelly good detergent. He’s not allergic so I don’t care. I did the same with my first too.
I do try my kids clothes on low. But sometimes I just can’t stand doing one more load and wash and dry them with ours and nothing happens.

If you read the tags most say to dry on low. 
I did that for about a week into my baby being born...now almost a year later it all goes into the dryer in the setting that gets it done fastest 😂

I put mine in the dryer on low, it’s what I’ve always done and nothing ever shrunk or messed up

My son’s clothes all go in the dryer with the rest of our clothes on a normal setting. I tried to hang dry my first batch, but quickly realized that made them too stiff. Now I just expect everything to shrink a bit after the first wash so I try to buy bigger sizes, especially for organic cotton.

Who says you can't use the dryer on cotton clothes? I always dry clothes on lower heat, and if it's nice shirts/sweaters or a something you know will shrink, put it on 'less dry' setting and lay out to finish drying on your drying rack. If you have long arms, I'm guessing you'll be familiar with this routine, or else I guess all your shirts are too short in the arms 😂 It will work just fine for baby clothes, as it does for you. They are mostly dry by the time you lay it out and soft from being tumbled in the dryer.

Since my baby is due soon I switched our detergent to all free and clear, I'm not about to buy 2 different detergents lol
