I had my son circumcised for preventive reasons. Had a relative have it at 19 because he outgrew his and it was cutting circulation and a family friend have in his 70s because he kept getting infections. Idk if everybody in my family is circumcised, but I know my dad, brothers and nephews are, so I also felt comfortable knowing I was gonna have help caring for the wound. He was also a reputable doctor who used the Plastibell method. My sister’s youngest also had his with that method and his older had a conventional one and she said the Plastibell was way easier to care for and that he healed rather quickly and wasn’t in pain the second day after the procedure. After the band fell off, it immediately didn’t look right to me but it was still swollen so I gave it some time and they said sometimes you have to pull it back and it’d be fine. I tried that and got it to look sort of normal but it went back but they kept saying it was fine. Now, 2 weeks later it goes completely inward into the foreskin leaving a tiny shaft and you can only see the urethra inside of it. He’s turning 2 months old on Thursday so now to fix it, it would have to be in an OR completely under. Tomorrow is the appointment and if he has a buried penis it may even require a skin graft and I have no idea what to do. I feel so impotent and guilty. I feel awful for my baby. I want to know what the hell happened and why.
