Period is 3 days late

Hey all. This is my first post here :)

My husband and I are newly TTC. We had sex on the 27 and the 29th of January but it was 7 days after my ovulation date. I know that the odds of being pregnant are pretty low in this case BUT my period is now 3 days late and it's usually pretty spot on. I do have slight cramping so I'm a bit confused. I took a test this morning and it did come back negative. How many of you have had this happen and ended up being pregnant?
