When to have hospital visitors
I am having a scheduled C-section. I had an emergency C-section with my first and will have a scheduled one this time. With my first I was in labor for 36 hours, pushed for 4 hours and ultimately had to have the csection. So it being scheduled I'm a little confused about when to have people come to the hospital. My son was born at 6pm and we got to recovery at 9pm so I didn't get visitors until the next day which was nice to have that bonding time overnight. (both of our parents got to see us in recovery after he was born but they all only stayed for 15 minutes) it was a long day.
Now I'm having this one and it's gonna be set for about 10am. Its also a surprise gender baby and I know everyone is dying to know what it is. But I don't really want people waiting in the waiting room while I'm in surgery and it being a mad rush to my room once I'm in recovery. My MIL is very pushy and always wants to be first and this time I want my parents to be first to meet the baby. I also just want a few hours to ourselves since we don't even know the gender to bond with baby and get some breastfeeding down and snuggles before everyone comes. My family is totally okay and respectful of what I want. But I know my husbands family isn't gonna like it. I already told his grandma because she mentioned being in the waiting room and she wasn't happy about it. Am I wrong?!
