My 3 year old is sick & she wants to be close to me but I don’t want my 2 week old to get sick. I’m trying to have her a little bit distant from the baby but she cries . I’m not breastfeeding & I am a total wreck & paranoid that he might catch it

Good advice from everyone. Also remember that your toddler is creating memories right now. Your newborn isn’t. Your toddler will remember if you shunned her, especially when all she wants right now is her mother. It’s ok to prioritize your sick toddler. Just wash your hands really well before handling your newborn.

Honestly it’s easier to keep baby away than toddler away. You can put baby in the swing or rocker when you’re done feeding to keep baby away from where toddler is, especially while baby is still so little and sleepy. Good luck... mom probs :(

In the same boat right now. My 5yo was just sent home from school with a 102 fever and the pediatrician thought it was flu. His tests came back negative but we have him quarantined in his room and my husband is on duty with him and now I’m on my own with my daughter who is only a week old and I’m breastfeeding which has been a MAJOR stress for me. Already panicking on how to deal with tonight. 😩. I’d just keep the kids separated and wash hands. Lysol. Everything u can and if u have anyone who can come help call them!

You can't avoid your toddler. Just make sure to wash your hands and anything toddler touches on you that can transfer to baby. Don't touch baby's face for anything to be extra cautious.
