Zofran Pump

Alex • Mommy to twin girls Aurora and Everly, and bonus love Vivienne 💕

I searched the app for information on a zofran pump and honestly didn’t find much, so I wanted to make a post to hopefully help at least one mama in the future! Some background info: my mom had HG with my sister and I, and my sister had HG when she had her daughter 4 years ago. I did not have HG with my twins who were born Feb 2018, but when I got pregnant in Sept 2019 (one baby) it quickly became apparent that I was way more sick than normal. I have been on diclegis since day 3. I started zofran dissolvable tabs around week 5. Started phenergan around week 10. I took them all around the clock and still couldn’t eat or drink anything. Lost around 10 pounds. Week 21 crap hit the fan and I threw up nonstop for 7 hours. I became so dehydrated that I started having contractions and was admitted to the hospital. I was admitted 2 more times after that for fluids, so zofran pump was my only next step. 2 days ago, week 23, I got the pump. It really isn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It stung a little in the beginning and the site was sore, but after a couple of hours I got used to all of it and now it’s just annoying to carry the bag around lol. The site needs to be changed every 5 days, which is awesome because my sister had to change hers every 2 days when she had it years ago. Home health comes out and will change it for me. I also have IV supplies and fluid at my house, and I give my home health nurse a report every morning to determine if I need them. This prevents me from going to the hospital every week. This has been a game changer for me so if you have any questions please just reach out!
