Baby crosses fingers?!?!?!?!?!

So I’ve noticed when my son is eating he crosses his fingers to help get the food in his mouth. Usually his middle over his ring. Is this normal? Weird? Explorative?? He grips things well and even turns pages in his books. Wondering if he is trying to explore those finger muscles or what. He’s almost 11 months old.
