How do you feel about your mother in law?

I don't consider my husband's mother anything to me. I haven't spoken to her in a year and a half. My husband hasn't spoken to her in 6 months either. She crossed major lines. She's narcissistic, manipulative, a pathological liar and just overall toxic.

I do love and adore her. 
The only thing that really burns me is when she addresses my husband (her son) about a topic that is clearly a ‘we’ topic (meaning our plans, finances, taxes, money cars, etc) right in front of ME, but doesnt acknowledge that y husband and i make these decisions TOGETHER. 🙄

She’s extremely important to me! I couldn’t of got through the past 20 years without her but I’ve been close to her family for a very long time. My SIL is one of my very close friends and my BIL and my brother have been friends since they were babies lol 
She’s out of line sometimes but our relationship is strong enough for us both to say when the other is out of line or if we don’t like something we can be fully honest and open with each other which I find is most people’s problem when it comes to in laws. 
If your a grown up you should be able to sort things out like one and a grandparent and grandchild relationship is extremely important to a child. Most grandparents don’t completely listen to parents rules and that’s fine with me he can eat ice cream whenever he wants he can eat and play whatever he wants as long as he abides by their house rules and is never put in danger. 
Also they are a very different generation from us and will have strong and different views it’s not a bad thing. 
Obviously unless they are an extremely toxic person or dangerous.

Not mil yet but my bfs mom. She’s bearable but I just hate the fact that she plays favorites between him and his sister. She’s nice to me. I just don’t like how she treats him.

I feel bad saying I cant stand her because she passed away in 2016, but I honestly couldn't stand her. 😒
