Would you name your son after their father? A Jr?

My husband and I are in a battle over our sons name. This is our third child and he wants it to be a jr. I do not. Both of my kids have unique names and I want this child to be unique too.

I wanted our oldest to be a jr. He said no and I told him that he better be sure because he'd never have the chance to do it again if he didn't for the oldest.
Now he's saying if this baby is a boy it should be a jr.... 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Lol my hubby refused to even consider the idea of a Jr. He says there's too many people with his name as it is.

We named our oldest after my husband and my husbands dad and granddad. But because there were so many Roberts in the family (their first name) we gave our son a different middle name and call him by his middle name.

I asked my boyfriend if he wanted it to be named after him. His name is Thor. He said no. I would’ve been fine with it but I like my boyfriends name. I wouldnt call him junior though 😂 I had JR titles.

I don’t want my first to be a jr... but told my husband if we had a 4th he could get a jr. 😂 (only because I ran out of names I liked, yes ive been planning my children’s names for years!) we’re only on our first baby, we’re doing the same initials for all our kids.

My husbands family has a tradition of same first name but different middle name that begins with the same letter. Maybe compromise 🤷🏼‍♀️
