Do these infant thermometer work well?

I know the one that’s inserted inside the rectum is more accurate. But I don’t feel comfortable doing that. The ones that go inside the armpit take forever. My baby starts crying from discomfort. I noticed in the hospital when I was in labor they were taking my temperature with something like that but of course doctors equipment. Do thee have a accurate temperature for a infant?

Tympanic is better. Those have been so inaccurate for us in the ER. We don’t use them anymore.

i got one thinking it would but nope... i mean theyre fine but no where near as accurate as another type may be. i use it on myself to and the readings are all over the place 😅

I have the exergen one and it's always a different temp on each side idk why. But I use it the majority of the time and then if it hits 100 I do the rectal temp but it's an easy way to check it without making her too mad. 
Vicks sells a rectal one that gets really big after a half inch or so so you know you arent putting it into far if that's your concern. But you really need to do rectal temp as an infant, the pediatrician will ask you for that as well if you call worried about your baby being sick.

I have the second one and it plain sucks. Very very inaccurate. 
Having a mom and an Rn I do rectal temps as I do not trust forehead thermometers unless they are medical grade, ear ones are never accurate as it is never done correctly, armpit is also iffy as you can have temp fluctuations and have to add 1 degree to the reading since it is external temp.

Tympanic is better. I have one but I just do rectal instead. With my 3 year old I do tympanic. 
This one is always off for us.
