My husband and I are TTC for baby number 1, but we’re taking a two month break so, if we got lucky, we didn’t have a baby too close to my sisters wedding. This week I’m ovulating and last night we had sex and he came inside me. Part of me is anxious. Of course we want a baby so we would be thrilled if this ended up happening any time, but if we conceived this month it would mean we would have a four week old for her wedding.

That led me to do some googling...

When is your due date actually? It says online your due date is roughly 40 weeks from the start of your last period. I always assumed it would be 40 weeks from conception. Can anyone clarify?

Also, if it’s 40 wks from last period it means maybe we shouldn’t ‘try’ next month either. Her wedding is November 27.

Taking a break from it is calming in a way, but also frustrating. We are so excited to be trying and I just want to get back to it! I also want to be smart about it thought. I am my sisters MOH and want her wedding to be the most special day. I don’t want to be about to pop, barely able to move, or worrying about a little newborn.

Has anyone taken a break from trying for a special date like this? Any advice?
